Are you interested in helping to lead in the Guide CyberClub Chat Room?

If you are an adult (at least 18 years old), you love Jesus, and you are committed to the mission of Guide Magazine, you can make a difference for Jesus as a Moderator. We believe in the mission of Guide Magazine -- to guide young people to Jesus. This is why we feel it is important that we have the very best team members. This is a volunteer position, so there are no wages involved. Yet, as in every line of service for Jesus, we find that our service for Him is richly rewarded. The application has five parts. The first is your own evaluation. Are you willing to be used by God to help others get to know Jesus better? This is more important than many other qualities and skills. The second step is to complete and submit the application. This involves letting us know who you are and what kind of person you are. Your contact information and how often you are available to lead in the chat room is also important information on your application. References that we ask for are people who know you and can tell us about what they see of your commitment to Jesus, reliability, and the like. A pastor, teacher, or other leader in your local church would be good for references -- preferably nobody who is closely related to you. The third step is for your application and references to be reviewed. Sometimes this can be done very quickly, and sometimes it takes awhile. If you give clear answers and good contact information for your personal references, that will help. The fourth step is for you to complete the training and screening for working with children and youth. "Shield the Vulnerable" was used in the past, and presently there is another service that is being used in many areas. This is generally required of all church leaders, particularly those involved with children and youth such as Sabbath School teachers and Pathfinder or Adventurer club staff. If you have already had this screening and training, please send a pdf copy of your certificate to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The fifth step is an individual interview that will help us to get acquainted with you. This also gives you an opportunity to ask questions you may have. The procedure will be that you may be designated as a CLT Officer while the application procedure is being completed.

Maybe you would like to be a moderator, but are not yet 18. There is a lot that you can do as a CyberClub member that does not involve being an adult or having any designation as a leader. What you post in conversation, comments or questions can help to make the chat room a friendly or an unfriendly place. You can have an effect on whether the conversation makes Jesus first, or become a distraction from Him. You might even lead in an activity such as a discussion or Bible Trivia activity. Sometimes it may be good to recognize members who have volunteered to take an active part like this in the CyberClub -- even though they do not have the designation of moderator. For this purpose, we have the CLT Officer designation. This stands for "Chat Launch Team Officer."  The application procedure for this is much simpler. Just click on the link and complete the application.  You can make a difference in our Guide Cyberclub.
